Asia er både den største og den mest folkerike verdensdelen, og består av den østlige delen av kontinentet Eurasia med tilliggende øyer, omgitt av Europa, Svartehavet, Middelhavet og Afrika i vest, Indiahavet i sør, Stillehavet i øst og Nordishavet i nord. Asia dekker omtrent 30 prosent av jordens landmasse, og har nær 60 prosent av jordens befolkning.
